Social Media experience

  • Created the Facebook and Twitter pages for the Arthritis Foundation NJ Chapter. The creation of the pages led to a spike in event attendance around the state and generated media interest in the chapter’s mission. On a daily basis, the Twitter and Facebook pages became a discussion forum for arthritis patients through posting news articles about the disease as well as medical contacts for patients and resources around the state.
  • Manage the Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare accounts for Rowan University. The university uses the Facebook and Twitter pages to inform current students, faculty and staff as well as attract and inform potential students. The Rowan Facebook page has reached just under 10,000 fans and the Twitter page has just over 2,000 followers. As coordinator, I took on the project of creating a Foursquare for universities page, which including applying to the company to create a specific page for the university and running a personal university account in order to generate interest in the social networking tool around campus. The site was used to host contests for different venues and leave tips about events around campus for students, and the social media team is continuing to find new ways to use the site and several other social networking tools.
